Set In Stone

The geologic history recorded in Maine’s bedrock spans billions of years.  The interaction of the earth’s plates are responsible for the most spectacular features of Maine’s geology.

We take these end products and create works of art that are also useful.  No two are alike.  Explore with us this wonderful world!

Set In Stone gathers rocks responsibly sourced from local farms in Southern Maine and brings them back to their studio to carve them with diamond infused grinders and cutting wheels.

The variety of a stone’s shape, size and color allows us to make products that are one of a kind and can not be duplicated.

Set in Stone was created by two men that saw the beauty in the rocks that are found in Maine and decided to make both functional and aesthetically pleasing carvings out of them. 

Matt and Ben are now building both indoor and outdoor water features and boulder fire pits.  They have been in the hardscape industry for a combined 30 years and have a passion for the products that they make.
